About Rosalind Mercy ~ Miniature Porcelain
Lyn Mercy and her daughter Isabel Fisher have been working as Rosalind
Mercy for over 25 years. Together they have made some of the most coveted pieces of miniature porcelain in the
world.
It was over 35 years ago that Lyn started to create fabulous miniature porcelain
and earthenware. Her daughter Isabel joined her in the 1980’s and together they have delighted the serious collector
with their rare and exquisite works of art.
Lyn and Isabel create each miniature from start to finish at their workshop in
the South of England. The tiny ceramics are made from fine porcelain clay also earthenware and terracotta. All are individually
fashioned in exactly the same way as the full sized object. The porcelain is fired to vitrify - the glazes and colours have
been developed over many years to obtain the desired effect. During firing the pieces are taken upto temperatures of 1250oC.
Some pieces are fired upto 6 times in total to achieve the desired level of decoration and ornate detail.
During the 70’s Lyn sold her work from her own premises in Kent. During
the 80’s and 90’s when she and Isabel first worked together they attended the well-known Fairs at that time and
organised their own private Open Days for Collectors. Unable to mass-produce their pieces are rarely available in shops. They
have brought joy to collectors world-wide with their museum quality miniature porcelain.
Rosalind
Mercy miniature ceramics can be
found in museums and private collections world-wide – some open to the public, as well as enhancing dollshouse settings.
Our inspiration comes, in the main from lucky finds in junk shops, pretty one-offs, pieces from around our own homes and styles
from Ancient Greece to Art Deco.
We have enjoyed ourselves and indulged in pure flights of fancy.

Each piece is signed with our mark. No two pieces of our work are exactly the same –
you are acquiring a complete original.
